Carlo Bottoni
It
is said that
Ugo Bottoni, the legendary "Amiral", father of Carlo Bottoni,
used to take up position on the hill surmounting the old Roman
racecourse of Villa Glori when he was not racing. Such a choice
to be able to observe better from this privileged position,
those that would have been sooner or later his adversaries in
course. He was studying, learning to know their qualities and
weaknesses, so that then face them in horse-races without ever
being catched unprepared. Carlo Bottoni, expert tactician,
certainly inherit this horse-races’ approach from his father.
Indeed, his interpretations, unique because of the intuitive
ability he showed, apart by the complete knowledge of the
possibilities offered by his position during events and the
systematic and instantaneous analysis of the position of his
adversaries, thus succeeding in anticipating their strategies.
Therefore, we can say that Carlo Bottoni, thanks to an intuition
peculiar to the only great drivers and to his perfect knowledge
of his adversaries, still is a lenght ahead. He is able to
foresee the progress of a horse-race and to stave off the
attacks with the tactical actions that are systematically the
most suitables. His favourite strategy is based on a speed start
to follow the leader, then he stalls to the utmost to keep the
efficiency of a final stunning rush. Whereas he lets believe
that after a long waiting his horses would may not have the
energy requested to attack, he launchs a victorious s
during the latest beats, giving greater importance to the course
on the inside. Together with Marcello Mazzarini, he represents
the talents of the Roman drivers of the second half of the last
century. Since the last years, Carlo Bottoni is no more so
active but when he appears in few programs, he proves he did not
loose anything of his powers nor of his huge talent.
